Having Fun with Special Touches

One of the things we enjoy most at Multimedia Memories is designing something unique and creative. While we have serious computing power and software at our disposal, they are just the tools. Or, if your like us, they’re more like toys.

Recently, we’ve designed a 3-D pop-up Christmas Card as a DVD menu. We’ve created motion slideshows with reflections, animated magazine page flips and pop-up photo books. We’ve made pictures of the cheerleading squad do backflips and cartwheels. And using a photograph of a basketball hoop, we’ve even animated the net stretching as the ball went through. Our designs can be understated and elegant when appropriate, or full-trottle, and of course, everything in between.

We could say more, but right now we’re busy working on animating flying text that lands on football field splattering “mud” on the camera.

Archiving, Preservation & Storage, Oh My!

Welcome to the digital age, where digital still and video cameras have completely changed the way we capture memories. With no film costs, no developing fees, and no prints to buy, it’s easier than ever to click and record away.

In high definition and high resolution, we can snap every smile, capture every coo, and digitize to our delight.

And then…..

We fill up our hard drives with the many gigabytes of our precious memories.

We can take care to archive these treasures by renaming and sorting the digital files, and we might preserve and protect them with automatic backup services.

But then….

It’s still the digital age’s equivalent of a shoebox full of slides in the attic.

A carefully labeled shoebox, I grant you.

Because the real value in our pictures and videos is not in their mere existence, no matter how carefully kept. It is in the enjoyment we receive from viewing them — and most especially when our loved ones view them together.

That’s why I love what we do at Multimedia Memories. We make your memories as fun as they are easy to watch.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Don’t let your pictures remain silent. Call Multimedia Memories today!

Thankful for Memories

Some moments are just more memorable than others. They stick with us, coming to mind without conscious effort. They haunt us with the lingering sense of delights past.

I’ve recently had the pleasure of sharing such a moment with family and new friends. Though nothing life-altering nor even remarkable in circumstance, it was sheer joy — a bliss arising from nothing more complex than the mix of personalities.

And I barely touched the camera.

There are times for remembering and times for making memories. But when all is said and done, I’m glad I have one picture to cherish. Because as vivid as the memories itself may be, when we arouse our senses, we can feel like we’re right there all over again.

So make memories and enjoy the moments, but don’t neglect to spend a little time behind, and in front of, the camera. As time passes and memories begin to dim, you’ll be glad you did.

Then bring those treasured images to Multimedia Memories. We’ll tell the story behund those pictures with music, motion, and a style befitting the mood. We’ll bring those memories back to life.

And to Jorge, Ludwig, Frosty & Frodo – if you visit us again, I promise not to burn the bacon.

Vacations Live On

Chances are you brought back more than memories and a tan from your recent vacation. You probably brought back lots of images of that special trip or time together as a family.

Taking pictures and video clips is a great way for those special memories to live on. And the best way to bring those memories to life is with an easy to watch, and easy to share, DVD with a dynamic moving montage of your images.

Best of all, just by hitting “Play” you can return to the relaxation, inspiration, & fun of vacation whenever you want. Let the kids enjoy a past trip taken when they were too young to remember. Feel the sun on your face when you’re cuddled inside during a snowstorm. See all their smiling faces any time you want after they’ve left for college.

So, whether your favorite vacation was a destination tour, an island paradise, camping in the woods, or even a stay-cation, there’s a story to tell. And telling stories is what Multimedia Memories is all about.

Childhood in a Box

For Mother’s Day, I was blessed to receive three handmade cards from my children. Of course, each captured their creator’s personality perfectly, but one was particularly sweet. My son let me know, albeit with silly humor, that the ways I care for him are greatly appreciated.

It’s good to be appreciated, to know that the time and efforts we take for family and friends don’t go unnoticed.

Recently, a client brought me boxes full of movies – film reels and tapes in a variety of formats. Some organized, many not. His father had spent many hours behind a movie camera. Yet many more hours must have been spent putting those film reels in order, squinting at images a mere 8 mm wide to decipher their contents, then splicing them together to create longer movies. Oh, the time that must have taken!

“That’s my childhood,” said the son. “My childhood is in that box.”

Is your childhood in a box? This year, consider showing your appreciation for those who devoted themselves to capturing memories. Honor their labor of love by updating to a Multimedia Memories custom DVD.

Your memories, brought to life!
